Violetta Koss,
Piano

Polish American pianist
Violetta Koss began her
piano studies at the age of four and
made her debut at Steinway Hall in
Manhattan NY at the age of six as a
student of Tatiana Tsoukanova. Since
that age, Ms. Koss has been an
active performer in venues
throughout New York, the United
States and Europe. Ms. Koss likes to
combine her love for music with her
passion for promoting Polish Arts in
New York. She frequently performs
the music of Polish composers and
works and organizes events with such
venues as the Polish Consulate, The
Kosciuszko Foundation, Pilsudski
Institute of America, and The Polish
Institute of Arts and Sciences in
America as well as WMP Concert Hall.
In November 2010 Ms. Koss was given
the honor to perform the works of
Ignacy Jan Paderewski in the Warsaw
National Philharmonic Hall in Poland
alongside the Bialystok Orchestra.
This performance resulted in Ms.
Koss being published in the European
Jazz Magazine along with being
appointed into the Paderewski Music
Society.
Ms. Koss is also frequently
published in such newspapers as
Polish Daily News, Post Eagle,
The River Reporter, and was
given the distinct honor of being on
Polish National Television in August
2010 as a result of a performance in
Wroclaw Poland. Ms. Koss has been
actively performing in the Polish
Consulate in New York since the age
of 6 and has had the privilege to
play for many of Poland's top
cultural, political and business
leaders among a few: the late
President Lech Kaczynski, Konsul
General Krzysztof Kasprzyk,
Secretary of State Ewa
Junczyk-Ziomecka, Minister of
Culture Tomasz Merta, Minister of
Culture Bogdan Zdrojewski and Eva
Rubinstein (daughter of the late
Arthur Rubinstein).
Ms. Koss has performed in master
classes
with
such renowned artists as: Jerome
Rose, Mykola Suk, Alexander
Braginsky, Eduard Zilberkant, Victor
Rosenbaum, Quynh Nguyen, Alexei
Orlovetsky, David Dubal, Marjean
Olson, and Jerzy Sterczynski in such
venues as: The Juilliard School,
Mannes College, New York University,
Manhattan School of Music, Frederic
Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw
Poland, Wroclaw Poland, and
Shandelee upstate NY. Ms Koss was
appointed Music Director at St.
Joseph Church in Brooklyn NY in 2009
where she was the head of the
children's choir as well as the
Church organist.
Ms. Koss is currently
studying at the Manhattan School of
Music under the tutelage of Dr. Marc
Silverman, chairman of the piano
department. Ms. Koss has already
been accepted to study with Andrzej
Jasinski in Poland, teacher of
Krystian Zimerman and plans to
pursue this opportunity in the
future upon completing her Degree.
