Michigan native Marie Blair holds degrees from Michigan State University, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and diplomas from the Royal Northern College of Music. At RNCM she won the 2002 Bach Prize and the 2002 Piano Duo Prize. Her teachers include Deborah Moriarty, Frank Weinstock, and Benjamin Frith. As a pianist she has played concerts in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Florida, New York, Manchester and London, UK, and Bermuda. She has played concertos with the MSU Wind Symphony, the American Wind Symphony Orchestra, and the RNCM Baroque Ensemble.

While at RNCM Marie began playing the harpsichord, an instrument which she enjoys very much, studying with Gary Cooper, Edward Parmentier, and Arthur Haas. Marie has been working on a Master’s degree in Harpsichord at Stony Brook University. She is currently living and working as a freelance musician in New York City. She holds the position of organist/choir director at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Islip, NY and is also Artistic Director for the St. Mark’s Early Music Concert Series. Since moving to New York, Marie has maintained contacts with her home state, as a piano instructor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and accompanist for the Leonard Falcone Internation Tuba-Euphonium competition.
